Arts &Crafts Extravaganza

Participants: We are looking for photographers, painters, doll makers, woodworkers, sculptors, quilters, and others to participate. Participants pay a $40 table fee plus 10% of any sales after the first $100 (not to exceed $50). Note: $40 fee is due by November 1.

Turning Around Ministries, Inc. (TAM) is a participating charity in the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign. TAM is listed as a “Local Independent” charity for the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts Campaign. The Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and program participants ask that you please consider giving to Turning Around Ministries. Eligible Donors: Military personnel, Federal Government employees, retired federal government employees and federal government contractors working in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. TAM’s CFC Number is 22618.

Walk-a-thon
Location: Emmanuel Church, 40 Dearborn Street, Newport, RI
Date: Saturday, September 8, 2012
Time: Registration – 8:30 a.m., Walk begins at 9 a.m.
Registration Fee: $10.00
Route: The walk-a-thon will begin at 40 Dearborn Street. Walkers will proceed down Dearborn to Thames Street. They will then turn right onto Thames. Walkers will continue on Thames until they reach Marlborough. They will turn right onto Marlborough and continue on Marlborough until they reach Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Blvd. At that point they will turn left on Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd./Equality Park Place until they reach Broadway. The walkers will turn left onto Broadway. They proceed up Broadway until they reach the old Sheffield School building. The walkers will then cross the street and proceed back down Broadway. The walkers will continue on Broadway until they reach Spring Street. They will then turn left onto Spring Street. The walkers will proceed on Spring Street until they reach Dearborn. They then turn right onto Dearborn and proceed on Dearborn until they reach the starting point of the walk. The entire route is 4 miles.
Purpose: The proceeds from this event will be used in our ministry for prison re-entry and to assist disadvantaged residents of Newport County. TAM provides services in the following areas: housing, employment, education, and personal development.
Goals: We aim to have at least 100 walkers, and raise at least $10,000.
Pledges: All pledges are tax deductible. Checks or money orders should be made payable to “Turning Around Ministries”. Pledges should be collected prior to the walk and turned in on Saturday, September 8, during the registration period on the day of the walk. All monies must be collected and turned in to TAM no later than Saturday, September 22, 2012.
